We are Shoonyah a creative duo based in Vancouver, Canada, with a background in the VFX and Animation industry. As artists, we blend our professional expertise with a passion for abstract art, creating a space where creativity flows freely beyond the demands of our day jobs.

Shoonyah is our sanctuary of artistic exploration—a place where we immerse ourselves in the boundless world of abstract art. Each piece reflects our journey of personal expression, untethered from external expectations.

What Does Shoonyah Mean?

The essence of Shoonyah lies in profound simplicity:

It signifies "that which is not."
It embodies "that which has no opposites."
It evokes "that which is inconceivable."
It represents "that which is complete in itself."

Imagine a seed—the source of life. Crack it open, and it appears empty. Yet, within this seeming nothingness lies the origin of everything. This paradox of completeness within emptiness is what we celebrate as Shoonyah.

Our Journey

Shoonyah was born out of our desire to liberate our creativity from conformity. Here’s a snapshot of our journey:

2022: Shoonyah begins as a daily art project to explore abstract art.
2023: We complete 365 daily artworks, demonstrating our commitment to consistent creation and artistic freedom.
2024: We transition to releasing one artwork every third day, prioritizing quality and exploration. This shift also allows us to expand into new platforms like Pinterest and print-on-demand, bringing our art to new spaces and formats.

Shoonyah is a journey of experimentation and self-expression, where each piece reflects our passion for the abstract and the infinite possibilities it offers.
